Our vineyards are planted on ridges of Pyrenean gravel dating from the Quaternary period, which rise from 19 to 23 meters.
At a depth of 14 to 16 meters, these gravels are rich in pebbles and poor in clay, giving the soil great drainage capacity. What's more, the hilltops are separated by a natural network of small streams that drain water towards the estuary. The vine only has the water it needs to grow, which creates a natural concentration of fruit.
Deep rooting allows the vine to draw on mineral elements that add complexity.
The pebbles provide exceptionally high levels of solar radiation, which has a direct impact on the vine's development, via photosynthesis, and on the health and ripeness of the grapes.
Geo-pedological studies have been carried out on our plots, revealing three types of soil, which we have matched by planting three additional grape varieties to enhance the aromatic range.
